I started JSH to do what I love and provide my clients with a better experience. A few years back my husband and I had the brilliant idea that we would add a second story to our beloved “casita” to accommodate our growing family (a project we abandoned by the way). The architect we chose required the use of a designer. At first I was excited about the prospect of working with a designer, but was quickly disenchanted by the experience. I felt like I wasn’t heard. The limited design choices I received did not seem to reflect me at all and it was extremely expensive to ask for revisions that did not get me any closer to my vision. Even worse, a friend of mine used the same designer and we had very similar recommendation despite the fact that our spaces and tastes could not be more different. In the end, I was looking at paying a high price for recycled designs that reflected someone else taste. I was soured on the whole experience.

I am truly interested in people and understanding their style and how they want to use their space. You will not get recycled designed from me. Each project is unique and inspired by the client, you. My pricing is fixed and flexible to fit your budget with no surprises. I pass trade discounts on to you so my only motivation is to find the perfect item(s) for your home.
